Zineryt

Zineryt is an antibacterial skin lotion. This lotion contains the active ingredient erythromycin, an antibiotic that effectively fights acne bacteria. The added zinc improves the effect of erythromycin, which means that the lotion has an extra-strong effect. Apply the skin solution twice a day (in the morning and at night), on the face or on the other affected skin areas, freshly washed, (not only on the lesions themselves) until the total area to be treated is covered. In general, it is recommended to carry out the treatment for 10-12 weeks, during which period in most cases a satisfactory improvement is observed. If there has been no improvement or if it worsens, the administration of the preparation should be discontinued.

What is Zineryt?

Zineryt is a medicine that contains two active ingredients: erythromycin and zinc acetate dihydrate. Erythromycin is an antibiotic that belongs to a group of antibiotics called macrolides, and zinc has an anti-inflammatory effect.

How does it work?

At the sebaceous gland level, erythromycin exerts antimicrobial action against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis, stopping the breakdown of sebum by bacteria and reducing, as a consequence, the amount of free fatty acids responsible for the inflammatory component of acne.

The presence of zinc improves the anti-acne effect of erythromycin thanks to the anti-inflammatory action demonstrated by the metal in experimental studies. Although the precise mechanism by which zinc exerts its anti-inflammatory action is unknown, it is likely related to the inhibition of mediator release from inflammatory cells. According to an in vitro study in human keratinocytes, zinc appeared to inhibit the stimulated production of interleukins 1 and 6, involved in inflammatory skin lesions. Furthermore, it has been found that the growth of erythromycin-resistant Propionibacterium acnes may be inhibited by zinc, suggesting a broader clinical efficacy for the erythromycin-zinc formulation, compared to erythromycin alone.

What are the benefits of taking it?

Zineryt Solution uses include being indicated to treat moderate to severe acne. With this disease, the skin of the face, and in some cases also the skin of the neck, shoulders, and chest, are affected by pimples, pustules, blackheads, and/or inflammation. With acne, the sebaceous glands make too much oil on the skin. This skin fat is itself a fertile breeding ground for acne bacteria. If a blocked secular gland has become infected with this bacteria, inflammation will occur. This in turn causes pustules. Zineryt kills these acne bacteria on the skin, causing less inflammation. The lotion also ensures that the skin regenerates faster. Impurities are treated, making the skin softer and smoother.

How do I use it and its dosage?

Always use this antibiotic acne solution exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again.
